M-TES at CIMTEC 2026 – 10th Forum on New Materials

The M-TES project participated in CIMTEC 2026 – 10th Forum on New Materials, held in Perugia, Italy, from 20 to 24 June 2026. Project Coordinator Prof. Elisabetta Gariboldi (Politecnico di Milano), together with Paola Bassani and Francesca Villa (CNR-ICMATE), represented the project during the symposium “Thermal Energy Storage: State-of-the-art Materials and Technologies Towards a Low-carbon Society”, which brought together experts working on innovative materials and technologies for thermal energy storage.

During the symposium, Paola Bassani presented the contribution “Investigation of the Influence of Additional Elements on the Microstructure of Commercial Al Alloys with Sn Additions”, while Elisabetta Gariboldi delivered the presentation “Thermo-mechanical Characterization of Sn-bearing Al-based Systems for Thermal Energy Storage”.

The event provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and discuss the latest advances with leading scientists and researchers working across the entire thermal energy storage value chain, from materials development to system design, modelling, testing, and application.
